Locality 85JTP15a, 89JTP13
This locality is evident from a distance because at some time in the past a coal ignited and the heat generated baked associated mudstones turning them terracotta red. The exposure is mapped as being representative of the Lower Killik Tongue of the Chandler Formation of Chapman et al., (1964), now the upper part of the lower half of the Nanushuk Formation of Mull et al. (2003). Exposure was poor in both 1985 and 1989 and plant material was collected as float from scree. Plant impressions include Elatocladus, Pagiophyllum and Sphenobaiera but the most notable taxa are leaves of Nilssonia alaskana and the shoot systems Nilssoniocladus alaskensis.
