Amaam Lagoon Locality 11
Description
From Moiseeva (2012) (p. 84)
"Leaves simple, entire, medium to large in size, 6–12 cm long, 6–13 cm wide, rounded or rounded-ovate in shape, slightly asymmetrical. Unpreserved base was most likely cordate or truncate. Apex shortly acuminate.
Margin dentate, with rare small triangular teeth up to 1 mm high and 3–4 mm wide, almost symmetrical or apically pointed a little. Basal and apical sides of teeth are slightly concave. Sinuses between teeth rounded, broad, not deep.
Venation suprabasal actinodromous, craspedodromous, conspicuous. Six to nine pairs of secondary veins depart from midrib at the angle of about 40°. Slightly arcuate basal veins branching at the angles of 45° to 50° have 7-8 basiscopic and 1–2 acroscopic branchlets some of them also have deviations and ending in teeth. Some of basiscopic branchlets join each other forming loops. Branching suprabasal veins decrease in number towards apex. Tertiary venation mixed opposite and alternate percurrent. Frequent tertiary veins straight or slightly curved deviate from secondary veins at a right angle. Venation of the fourth order orthogonal-reticulate; veinlets of this order almost as thick as tertiaries form ortho- or pentagonal areoles approximately equa lin size and enclosing anastomoses of the fifth order."
