Description
Leaf: simple; symmetrical; shape unknown; apex missing; base lobate; petiole normal; margin dentate except at the base where it is entire, teeth with obtuse apices and shallow rounded sinuses; venation suprabasal, perfect (?), marginal actinodromous; primary midvein straight, moderate, pectinals arising at an angle of approximately 45°, slightly weaker than the midvein and curving uniformly; abmedials arising at an angle of 45-55°, uniformly slightly curved and branched repeatedly; superior secondary veins arising from the midvein at an angle of 30-50° and uniformly shallowly curved or more or less straight, sometimes branching one or more times near the margin; tertiary veins strongly convex percurrent in the axils of the vein branches to more or less straight between parallel secondaries, often forking, sometimes repeatedly; inferior secondary veins weak, arising at 90° to the midvein, recurving into the basal lobes; fourth order veins straight to sinuous, percurrent.
Remarks
This leaf differs from specimens USGS 11614.6 (form HAPLTL125) in having curved rather than straight pectinal and secondary veins and in having a more acute angle of origin of the pectinal and secondaries. The leaf bases however appear to be identical.
