Description

Frond: rachis 2-3 mm wide; pinnae opposite, linear, straight, narrow, 3.0 mm wide narrowly tapering distally; apex of pinnae missing; angle of pinnae to rachis 35°, single prominant midrib well marked on pinnae.

Remarks

These specimens are identical to Cycadites unjiga Dawson from the Senonian of British Columbia (Dawson, 1883, p. 20; Plate 1, Figs. 3, 2a), which Berry (1921) transferred to Pseudocycas unjiga. Bell (1963) reported this form from the Cenomanian Dunvegan Formation (Plate 8, Fig. 5; Plate 9, Figs. 6 and 7). Other related forms include Cycadites pungens Lesquereux (1892, p. 30; Plate 11, Fig. 6) from the Dakota Group, Kansas.
